The Hamilton Watch Company was founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA (about 65km from the worldwide headquarters of OnOurWatches 
). Its first watch was the No. 936 pocket watch, introduced in 1893. This and subsequent Hamilton railroad pocket watches, with state-of-the-art accuracy, helped the railroad conductors and engineers to keep the trains running on time, helping to fuel the industrial revolution in the United States in the early 20th century.
