I received an e-mail from the guys at Google today that one of the files i posted here was violating some copyrights.
Has anyone else here received a mail like this recently?
I made many watchfaces over the last months and lots of them are remakes from exeisting watches. But the warning was only about one of them.
It was a remake of the TAG Heuer Connected and thats a smartwatch so maybe that’s the issue.
For now i deleted the ZIP-file and re-uploaded it under another name.
I often tried to explain that merely giving credit to a watch company replicated doesn’t secure one from being protected by not violating copyrights. tag heuer is really going after that. so in your case, re-posting it under a different name won’t change the actual watchface being copied. one of your moderators in this community will be able to confirm that. happened to the watchmaker community as well as the watch awear community with several take downs. your best choice would be to strictly forbid any replicas here and only allow original designs the last ten months G+ will exist. just remove the breach of copyright and don’t endanger the community for a take down. once a DMCA on a community, it’s on their radar.
@Bert_van_de_Bovenkamp you are certainly not the first and it’s a gamble as to when this happens…It’s not uncommon for Google to be asked to sweep by the big brand names… As long as you remove the public link they have identified - should be ok.
