The very rare c.1930 Elgin Avigo was produced from the late 1920’s till the early 30’s. Some have described this as a Military or Pilots Watch, well it’s Aviation linked but not in the sense that this watch was used by the Military, the truth is simpler, Avigo was a division with the Elgin Watch Co that made Aviation timing instruments and Elgin thought it might be a jolly good wheeze to get some publicity for this division by adding the logo to their own watches.
