The 3GB RAM - 32GB ROM, quad-core MT6739 SoC should still be fine to make and receive phone-calls and SMS. Basically just use Google Voice and Google Chat via WiFi.
Using the Tesla phone app on the watch (as a Bluetooth key) is probably too much to ask.
Rainbuvvy and Docooler are still selling this watch with Android 7 installed (2025) which no longer gets security patch updates. I am quite surprised these vendors haven’t demanded that the devices be ported to security supported OS’es.
Are any Android Open Source Project forks providing current images for this watch? AOSP 16…
That is great to read! If only Android 16 was available for the DM100…security updates…
Does the install still work from Google Pay store? I assumed Tesla stopped installs for Android 7.
I wish Tesla would allow one the save a key card to Google Wallet for NFC use. The Bluetooth key really gets buggy, even with new phones…need to restart the phone most times when it stops working.
I understand that Google apps like Google Wallet, Google Voice, Google Chat, Google Messages, Google Meet, YouTube Music won’t even install from the Android 7 Google Play Store.
On DM100 with Android 7 Tesla app is still ok, go to about app on Tesla play store and you will see she only need Android 7.. There is no NFC on this watch so only blutooth key card function for your Tesla, effectively bugged as some smartphone Android ( need sometime to restart blutooth to work ). All the app ( except Google wallet ) you mention can be installed on this watch from the Playstore. There is no Android update for this watch, she is still on Android 7.
I have still Android 7 on the DM100 and i dont know other ROM for this watch. I have also the little sister DM101 on Android 10 with the firmware available on this forum and she’s very good..
