Design suggestion

I was dreaming about a better smartwatch and I have a question for the specialists
Can you put the batteries out in the band of the watch?
If you can do this it will be a lot of free space inside the watch
Are there technical problems?

This is possible. I have already tried it a few month ago with an old zeblaze device. I used a bracelet like this:

It worked, but the result looked so disgusting that it didn’t occur to me to publish it…
By the way, the weak point of this construction was the flexible cable for the power supply. It would break quickly in continuous operation.

Thanks
And we’re did you find this battery? My Kospet Hope battery is dead and I can try to repair the watch

If you look for “battery bracelet” you’ll find some of these. But I would try to get a new battery for the Kospet Hope, for example on Aliexpress.

Thanks I will search for a new battery
But I believe that would be a good idea such type of bracelet for the smartwatch

Nice thought, personally I favour my android smartwatches above my standard analogue types but it would be especially brilliant if there were a way to design these so that the case thickness was slimmer.

To have a slimmer case design would be fantastic for business people who wear button down cuffed shirts. These watches are not a great fit for business shirts so there probably would be a wide market for a thinner case design.
In my opinion they would look less bulky and more stylish in general (even with short sleeve shirts, tees etc.)

That is an interesting design @G1NT0N1C I wonder if it would be possible to put the batteries inside the watch strap? That would solve the “Ugly Duckling” problem, but as you said the flexible cable would also need to be modified against wearing out too soon. Still @hom come up with an imaginative suggestion as to solve the battery life problem…who knows in the future? Cheers, Doons

I suppose that batteries could be connected by the pins of the bracelet, not with a cable as it was done with the antenna formerly

Yes indeed hom! :+1: I think it is certainly at least feasible to put one or more batteries in a watches strap (Up close to the watch body where the strap is relatively Straight and not curved) I don’t see why that couldn’t be done given the technology they have access to today. Imagine the time between charging if the watch had 3 batteries in total! (One in the watch and two in the strap) Batteries now days are so ultra thin that they should fit easily inside the width of a strap. Yes, I can’t see why it couldn’t be done! Cheers, Doons

To say it once again- it is possible, but it looks extremely crappy …

Hi @G1NT0N1C I just did a quick google on "batteries “Inside” a watch strap (Which is what I meant…and said, I think ) and right away came across this link that seems to show that Smart watch makers are indeed considering batteries as part of a strap. What do you think of it @hom ? I can see this happening within a very short time as one of the major floors of a smart watch is the need to be constantly aware of battery usage and the need to keep it charged. Anyway, take a gander at the link and see what you guys think. Cheers, Doons

If all the ideas that Apple has patented were actually implemented, we would be able to fly to Mars with every iPhone long ago. and of course back again!
