CronoSurf Beta 5 now available and optimized for Android Smart Watches!
Hey everybody! Toni, the developer of CronoSurf (you’ve seen it in action on several SWT videos) is now available as a free download for beta testing. Here’s the message I just received:
Hi Mr Ticks,
As promised, the beta 05 (free version) is available now to anyone as “Open Beta Testing” via this link:
You may pass this link to any one that could be interested or put a note below your videos.
Enjoy the weekend,
Toni
Toni has worked real hard on this, and he has a very nice modification from his original designed specifically for our round Android smartwatches. If you have a chance to give it a go, please test it out and report back. He’s very open to improvements. Be sure to press and hold the lower right button when in normal time mode. You should get your accurate battery reading from 0% (12 noon position) to 100% (10 on the watch face). Doing the same thing while on the World Time position (just press, not press and hold the lower right button) will bring up a compass on those devices that have compass support. Check that out on your phone! If ANYBODY gets compass readings on ANY smartwatch, PLEASE report back.
Thanks community, and enjoy this really fun watch face!
I just have tested it. It is awesome! Complex but simple and intuitive to work with. I think this watch could be a spectacular mechanical watch instead of virtual. Thank you Mr. Toni. Where can I write some minor bugs and suggestions?
Can I ask if this now goes ‘full screen’? (in other words not show the ‘virtual’ 4 buttons?) Can it use our actual (real) buttons? and uhm…can we create our own watch faces for it?
If you swipe up from within the app you will get a scaling menu where you can increase the size to make the buttons disappear. You can even scale up to hide the date rings to give the biggest clock possible. If you swipe down inside the app you get the settings. Somewhere toward the bottom you can adjust the touch areas for use on a watch which makes the inner part of the watch face sensitive where the button ‘should be’. You can’t use the actual watch buttons as they vary in number and function across all watches. This option probably won’t happen because of that and the hardwired way the buttons are dealt with within each watch. Creating your own faces would be an interesting enhancement. The developer would need to open up the code as to how he did this one. Perhaps there will be a ‘template’ version some day where you can cut loose and fly! Right now he’s busy optimizing this particular face. We’re testing beta7 right now. Keeps improving with each beta!
Now I’m going to send you to our technical team for that level of support:
