Can I ask something?

Hi guys…a small question.
I have been a member for 6 or 7 years here and have had a lot of full android watches.

I understand and appreciate all the effort you guys are putting in to make these watches the best they can be, but i can’t see the forest thru the trees anymore.

I have no knowledge about processors, data-analyzing,unisoc or any other kind of socs…

I think i am not the only one here who does not understand anything in the last posts that have been created…they are way to technical.

In the meanwhile i am looking for the best full android watch at this moment, needing standalone thru sim-card, and all notifications coming in without the use of a cellphone…that’s it…

But there are so much posts about this chinese version isn’t good, and that processor is bad, that i am lost.

so my question is…what is the safest watch to buy now where all notifications come in and works standalone?

Thanks for understanding we are not all super knowledged in this field (but your work is much appreciated)

Hi buddy.

Another post that isn’t answered…

I have the DM30 watch since 2023 and it’s really, REALLY a good full Android watch.

It has Android 9.1, 64 GB ROM, 4 GB RAM, 2x5 mpx cameras well positioned on the watch, and I haven’t all those problems with A8 faws nowadays.

Notifications come to me without any problem. Standalone SIM card, and push other notifications from phone via Bridge app.

You can still find this watch available on AliExpress or Alibaba sites

See ya…

I left a picture of the watch itself

thanx for your reply…cameras are not really an issue…never took 1 picture witch my cameras…maybe usefull for videocalling bit thats about it…

i would prefer a squarish design because of the overall usefullness…

like you said, to get notifications, stay away from A8.1…

and off course it needs to have a battery that at least can take a 16 hour day of use

I can take from 22 to 36 hours without having to recharge the battery, by simply setting the watch on 3G mode (not 4G) and using it connected to a good wifi signal so much possible as it could be.

I almost forget, the watch can also switch between square or circular screen by holding the start button pressed by 1 second and clicking the correct option.

that’s a massive question, and like you, most of the technical stuff goes over my head

i agree it’s best to move on from android 8.1, but also avoid anything with a W577 chip if your in europe, they don’t seem to have band 20 which is the main european LTE band, meaning you could find coverage patchy, that leaves watches using the W377E chip !

Hello, I’ve been in this group since 2018. I have 8 Full Android watches. I’ve been thru the false advertisements like being water prof and Gorilla Glass, battery life etc. They may have gotten a few things better, but…

The truth is you wont find one that works 100%.I ended up with a Samsung watch. I can get it wet and drop it and the quality is there. I get OTA updates for 3 years now.

It’d be nice if they put quality components in them, like better cameras, better firmware etc.

The Youtube videos used to be informative and they used to test them like battery life. I’ve not seen a video like that in a long time.

These watches were once called a Hobby watch and they still are.

hi I’m new to this forum, just discovered android watches (the ones that are straight up like a tiny smartphone) exist so I figured I’d try and get some more info. since it seems like I can’t make a forum post I thought I’d post this here first. does anyone know about those DS9 model smartwatches? the ones with a camera on its back? I don’t see anyone talking about it 'cause it’s the first one I’ve gotten so far, and I was curious to know if anyone’s gotten any info on it. also, I’m thinking of replacing it soon with a similar watch but I’d still like it to be a tiny smartphone, ideally one that’s a little more recent than android 8 and has 4g/5g capabilities, so I’d like some recommendations since the market is full of these watches and they don’t give out specific details on the OS versions and whatnot.

The model above is DM30, with Android 9, 3G/4G, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM.

I don’t know if Kospet Prime or other Android 10, or 11 watches are still for sale on AliExpress or Ali baba stores.

ah! i see. i’ve heard of an android 13 smartwatch recently, would that be worth taking up on? to be honest i just wanna make sure it works with 4g/5g since most of the apps i use still support older android versions (mostly open source ones). also, this is just a personal preference, but i kinda like the look of my current watch. its a rounded square, and it’s supposed to look like an apple watch, but i wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t one, as long as it’s still square. sorta like this one, though it’s a little overkill for me lol. other than that, i’m not picky. i just find these things fascinating to me.

5G is not supported by any full Android watch yet. The 5G radio signal consumes a lot of battery for a watch, making it useless.

All of the rounded ones support the square mode too, by pressing the start button.

Google is getting better the visualization on small screens or screens with minimal resolution.

See how the Google Clock app looks like actually on a 400*400 screen when the alarm is ringing…
