Another dumb question on charging cable

I’ve had this doubt lingering in my mind for a while. Can the charging cable be used for data flashing too ?
Or do we need another data cable for it ? I read in some forum that sometimes charging cables cannot be used for data transfer…

Maybe this is a reason why my watch wouldn’t flash ?

The one cable does both. Has 4 pins. Two data and two power.

oh ofcourse, i did the memory test… so naturally the cable should be ok… duh !

"If" you have more than one cable from different watches it might pay to mark them. I found that even though they look the same they are not all identical in how they connect.

no. i have this one watch only. and i am using this cable that came with the watch. but i read somewhere in another forum where someone mentioned that the charging cable may not double up as data cable, coz of the thinness of the cable or something …but its not easy to get another spare cable locally here …
