If that doesn’t work I would be very surprised because there would be hundreds of people who have the problem.
To easily update play services, go to Settings / apps / play services and scroll down to advanced settings for the app.
Tap on the line which says “installed from play store”. This will take you to the play store update for play services (which is usually hidden).
Then update it.
Follow up with play store update by going to the settings menu in the play store app and click on the version number.
I have checked with Maria and she said 1.6 will be released this week, since I am on 1.5, I will check these claims before updating to see if it is software related.
If you upgrade to v1.6, you can not downgrade back to v1.5.
As long as you understand this, no worries.
The pixart BT + sensor chip cannot go back from v1.6.
Up until v1.6, you can flash up and down versions.
When you flash back from v1.6 you will be fine until the Pix chip firmware. This is where it fails.
Isn’t it possible to flash Pixart via WiiteDFU? Also wondering if the OTA they are going to release has other changes except the sleep algorithm, if not I can upgrade now.
It’s simply because the latest batch of production Z40 has a slightly different Pixart chip.
So it cannot use previous versions of firmware.
Don’t worry, it’s not a conspiracy or anything nefarious
I suspect that the eta is elastic because they have already sent a few samples to you and they are also likely waiting for the factory.
Don’t be concerned.
After not using it for a month my watch displays a blue battery with an exclamation mark when trying to charge it.
I left it to charge for several hours but the display did not change and the watch did not charge. It also doesn’t boot when long pressing the buttons.
Return it or disconnect the battery.
If you have access to a photo repair service, I would ask them because it is quite tricky.
Avoiding damage is tricky.
If you disconnect, it will reset the “memory” of the watch - battery relationship.
This sometimes happens after long periods of not using the watch at all.
Thanks for the reply.
Is there a video guide on how to disconnect the battery?
Open the watch via the screws on the back and then locate the connector?
Is this due to “deep discharge”, or something else?
No video that I know of.
Once the rear cover is removed, it’s not hard to locate the battery and the flat cable attached to the main board.
But the main problem is removing the rear cover without damage and the right tools are required.
Pry tool and torx driver.
That’s why I suggest you ask a phone repair guy.
They do this stuff every day.
You can try to clean the battery connector of the watch and use a strong charger with a 2 or 3 A output. Contacting a seller on Ali to buy a new battery and place a order but the seller cancel my order because cannot ship it :standalone battery are forbidden in airplane transport…
