I don’t know if you seen my question about toast ā€œWeather updatedā€. I noticed that this happens a lot tho not always. Sometimes it shows only once or twice sometimes it keeps showing over and over again (I once counted to 30 times). I think that it also might keep screen on longer (but only when woken with button). This might suggest some bug in network code you are using. Maybe this toast is from built-in weather app but I think I didn’t see that (or at very least so many times) with built-in launcher.
I’ve mentioned my watch restarting from time to time but I’m most certain this is cause of MacroDroid so no worries here

One thing tho: after such restart (or ULng crash) steps counter most of the time starts with 0 (this is known already) but on at least two occasions I had step counter displayed as negative number:

Above screenshot is from 2.0.10 but I had similar issue with 2.1
Also note 0 C as temperature (and weather icon). They are both wrong (at the same time built-in weather app showed correct values - the built-in is Yahoo weather - yes I have set Location 1 to my home).
Crash of your launcher almost always leads to inablity to change watchface (cured by restart).
I don’t know how expensive is to initialize coco lib but maybe doing this after changing watchface could solve that.
Hope that helps

Edit:
Forgot to mention that there is no crash file but I noticed mtklog dir that seems to contain some debug info from crash that forced watch to restart. If this helps in any way I can provide few of those

I have changed the weather toast in 2.1, seems like you still have the issue.
You can give me the logs you found, even If I Don’t think it concerns my app.
Thanks

ricktop Dear Eric, many thanks for ā€œno lagā€! Very nice! Ok, another bugs that I had reported, are still there - I cannot change the skin without reloading, strange/missing notifications are there as well. Attached pls find the last trace logs: the older one for 2.0.10 and the very fresh for 2.1. I hope they help you to find smth … THX!

I'll keep eye on them Check priv message for location of those mtklogs (they are not in plain text and I'm not sure what really is there so for your eyes only ) N.

Great news

Thx for all your hard work. I’ve just installed 2.1 so no real issues yet

But I noticed some misbehaving .watch tags:

  • {blp} is missing ā€˜%’ (output is exactly like {bl})
  • {wtd} is missing degrees part (output is exactly like {wt})
  • {wssp}/{wsrp} and/or {dtp} is oddly working - tried to change weather gfx based on night/day and it failed miserably
Also step counter gets reset to 0 after restart and crash of ULng (system app doesn’t have this problem).
Yesterday I’ve installed MacroDroid and made simple macro to run every hour (wifi on ; sleep 3min ; wifi off) (*) I don’t know if it was MacroDroid or ULng but my KW88 restarted couple of times. I’ll see how it goes with 2.1.

scytalemk

Did you upgrade ULng? Or did you uninstall older version before installing 2.1? With previous version I had severe issues after upgrade that were gone after clean install (uninstall old one, install new one).

nameless, Every new release I do clean install. not upgrade, and with every new release I am facing same issues after restart. Can anyone confirm same thing happens on KW88, or it’s just my watch. Do I need factory reset? Honestly, I don’t think it will help.

scytalemk I have KW88 and don’t have all those probs  (at least not at that scale).
If you have .watch skins in ClockSkin dir - double check that none of them is in protected format (this watch files are really ZIPs so open them using WinZip or some such - if there is watch.pxml file inside its in protected format) and delete those that are. If this doesn’t help - remove watchfaces and start adding them one by one and test which one might cause problem.
Also look for WatchClockSkin_crash.trace file in the root of your watch storage. Post it here if found (best with watch face you tried to choose).

nameless , scytalemk : I’m running DM368/LF16/l3, not KW88. I had installed 2.0.10 after factory reset and it was working fine for a while. Then, as I’ve got the prob with missing notifications for the first time, and as I was unabled to change the skin without restart I have uninstalled the Launcher - really, with ā€œuninstall meā€, clear cache and data and so on. So it was a clear install of 2.1 today (well, without factory reset of the watch). And I’ve got both probs from the very beginning! In my ClockSkin folder there are no .watch files, only three ā€œnormalā€ clock skins which were all ok. And I’ve got these exceptions I have uploaded before.

yawa did you uninstall app or just hit uninstall me in launcher settings and cleared data? Are you on latest firmware? Have you factory reset after upgrading to latest firmware? What apps do you have installed? (MacroDroid caused problems on mine watch). These are really longshots  Trace files indicate problem with QuickSettings fragment I think this is some race condition but only Eric can cross check this with source files. Can you post those clockskins? I’d upload them to my watch and see how this ends
Have you ever used adb and usb debugging? Logcat might provide some more detailed info

  • as already said: I’ve hit ā€œuninstall meā€ in the app first, then clear cache, data and so on in the settings->uninstall application, then uninstall the app itself.

Are you on latest firmware?

  • Yes, it’s the FW from 03/03/2017

Have you factory reset after upgrading to latest firmware?

  • Nope, I did it before upgrading

What apps do you have installed? (MacroDroid caused problems on mine watch).

  • Nothing, just Gapps … Chrome, Play Store, Maps …

These are really longshots  Trace files indicate problem with QuickSettings fragment I think this is some race condition but only Eric can cross check this with source files. Can you post those clockskins? I’d upload them to my watch and see how this ends

  • I have already posted these three skins, but no prob - here we go

Have you ever used adb and usb debugging? Logcat might provide some more detailed info

  • Nope, but I could if it helps, pls give me just some hints. pls be aware that I have no root yet
nameless , pls find answers above. thx for your assistance!

Can anyone please help me to how to use .watch skins on this universal launcher latest version…? m having KW88…

yawa have a look at www.howtogeek.com/125769/how-to-install-and-use-abd-the-android-debug-bridge-utility/ (tbh I did not realize how much of an effort this is on Windows  ) Basicaly you connect watch to computer, fire up adb logcat from CLI capturing output to some file and then on watch you recreate troublesome action (changing clockskin in your case). This is rather low level debugging.
Maybe we should wait for ricktop to agree on doing this (he’ll be the only one who’ll be, eventually, looking at them).

vaibhav011286 just upload .watch files to ClockSkin dir (create one in the root of your watch storage if it doesn’t exist)

thx, nameless , I'll take a look. BTW, I wonder why ClockSkin is asking me from time to time regarding permissions I've already granted to it. Is there a way to check which permissions are distributed among the apps? I could not find that so far, it is not the same as on the smartphone.

In settings you can check which permissions particular app has (Settings Search is useful here). I’m not sure if android provides the list the other way round.
If it asks again for same permissions it’s like Android OS lost that info (due to crash or some such).

Ok, I have few .watch files and all of them are working flawless, i can change them whenever I want after clean install. Problem starts after I reboot the watch, or if the watch turn it self when it’s out of battery. After reboot it shows only black screen, or just the parts of watchskin, like it have some graphical problem. Like it cannot read .png files and fonts. I am talking about situation when I try to change new skin. Sometimes it shows only previous (old) skin, no matter how many times you try to change new skin. It shows new skin only after reboot. (Anyway, I will make a video, maybe it will be easier to explain that way). It’s not so big problem for me because I reggulary use 2 or 3 skins depending of occasion. Same happens if there is no .watch files in clockskin directory. I’m just interested what’s happening with launcher after reboot, why it’s messing up the skins?

Oh yes, nameless , of course, stupid question. I see them all under settings->uninstall application. ok, will monitor whether they dissapear from time to time. BTW, while I was on the way back home, I did _nothing_ with the watch. The first thing I saw at home - wow! - I've got some notifications from my smartphone! I swear, I changed _nothing_! Well, the second thing was of course my test with clock skins and voilĆ  - I can change them again. It works now?! What?!!! Self care software

Still wondering … Well, I get new notifications on my watch now. Let’s see how long … The problem is though, that my watch isn’t jumping automatically to the new notification as I would expect (as the stock launcher does), but it’s either simply vibrate or it vibrates and goes on showing me the last screen I had used (not obligatory the clock).

P.S. It was ok till watch reboot. After reboot I can’t change the skin, notifications don’t arrive … and all the permissions seem to be ok.

That with showing last screen is known bug
I just had similar issue. Out of the blue I was unable to change skins select dim mode and all widgets showed only + sign The only thing I can think of is that I was playing a lot with skins switching between your three and some .watch every couple of minutes. After reboot all was back to normal.
Even the widgets returned.
I’ll try to see if I have some trace file

Very strange. I was sure, that all my three skins were ok under 1.x and 2.0.x. Well, the only thing I can do is to take another 3-4 skins and play with them. Will do that and report. UPD. Nope, I deleted these three skins and uploaded three new skins. Restart. I could change the skin only one or two times, after that I've got the same problem - I change the skin, but no reaction, it remains the same. Well, I didn't reinstall the launcher, but I suppose, it's not the point. To be sure: here the three new skins I've tested.

i just downloaded the tagheuer-formula1.rar (495.31 KB). uncompressed it and transfered it over to the watch. black/blank. looked at the file and there .img* hidden? removed the . from infront of the filenames and edited the xml to correspond with the new name. transfered the new files over and its showing up now. poked it a few times, restarted the watch seems to be working fine.
