Hi,
my experience with launcher 2.0.9 on KW88 on YT video

  1. since 2.0.x the standard watchface is ā€˜pulsing’ - what causes this ??
  2. not easy to change watch face
  3. finally when successful, on 2.0.9 after about 10 mins after watch reboot, battery indicator on watch face (all of watch faces I’ve tried) is freezing, and not progressing as battery drain.

Try double tap on the screen and then change the watchface look at the Erics changelog… It’s not long press anymore

In fact it’s both, but looks like the launcher is crashed in your case, so it will need to restart again. To do that, best is to reboot the watch. I’ve seen that after trying a skin not supported, then there was no way to change it, even selecting another one like on the video. Don’t know why the engine is not able to load another skin in this case. So to conclude, find the skin that causes this and remove it.

It seems to me that power consumption is a bit more in 2.0.9 or is it just me? (I’m on LF16)
Just sitting on the table from 8 am to midnight consumed 80% (no connection whatsoever enabled and no SIM) It used to last much, much longer for me even wearing it.
BTW I cannot believe so many people refer to the ā€œpulsingā€ of the default watchface like it is a bug

My suggestion is (that's what I do every new release)
  1. Go to up-right-right menu options and hit UNINSTALL
  2. go to settings → uninstall application
  3. hit WatchclockSkin
  4. force stop (not necessary but I do it just in case…)
  5. scroll down and hit clear defaults
  6. scroll up and hit clear cache
  7. scroll up and hit clear data
  8. scroll up and hit uninstall
  9. open file manager and check there is no WatchTmp folder. If there, delete it.
  10. Reboot your watch
  11. Install 2.0.x launcher as always
  12. Set it as admin and activate it.
  13. reboot your watch
  14. set launcher as default
  15. Enjoy!!!

Doing these steps I never have had such behavior trying to change a watchface.

Sometimes, when you switch from a .watch file to another .watch file, it doesn’t draw as expected. When it happened, I just restart the watch and everything works ok.

hope this helps.

Hi Eric, a question:

at Skin Settings --> Location: I wrote my City, country (Caracas,VE), but don’t get the weather forecast for my location. What I doing wrong? Should I turn on location service and let the watch to set it?

I'm using the Finow X5+ and power consumption took a big leap with 2.0.9.  I'm reverting back to 2.0.8 as I had no problems with it and power consumption was minimal with 2.0.8.

Normally, you should :

  • turn on internet access (with wifi or bluetooth), no need for GPS
  • enter your City, press the ā€œā€¦ā€ Search button and select the right one in the list. Do in your case, you did it right.
  • exit with save and wait for refresh. In 2.0.9 it is done on the save button.

Hmmm, that is interesting
I normally do this ā€˜full clean’ procedure every time I’m reinstalling the launcher
however I was not doing two things :

  • clear defaults
  • checking for WatchTMP folder
so this time I also clear defaults
and there was no Watchtmp folder but there was a junk looking file clockskin…something (unfortunately I did not make a note) in the main catalog - which I delete
    reboot
    install and launch 2.0.9
and now it’s working perfectly well - at least watch face changing process works normally

so thanks for this smart tick !

Hi Eric, the failure of the time delay when unlocking the screen is being investigated?
Great job.

There should not ne any change in consumption, only put back some vibrate action...

It must be something specific to the X5+ then.  Using 2.0.9, my battery dropped from 100% to 82% in 4.5 hours with the screen off and doing nothing.  Using 2.0.8 under the same conditions I had 60% remaining after a 24 hour period.  I now have another install of 2.0.8 and will run another test tonight to confirm my numbers.

I can confirm that version 2.0.9 on the Finow X5+ causes a dramatic battery drain over version 2.0.8.  I ran a 9 hour test last night using version 2.0.8, screen off and laying on a table and the battery consumption only dropped from 100% down to 89%.  Version 2.0.9 seems to roughly double the battery consumption on the X5+

Hi, first of all, great work to 2.0.9!
But, I have this prob with X5plus with the 2.0.9. When I on the screen after some time, the clock is not reflecting the correct time. It needs a few seconds or a min to reflect the correct time. Is there some setting that I need to change?

You may need to apply a couple firmware updates.  There have been two firmware updates from Finow in the past 2 weeks for the X5+.  I'm not experiencing any lag at all with the time display.  My only issue with 2.0.9 on the X5+ is the abnormal battery drain so I've reverted back to 2.0.8 since it works perfectly and has almost no drain on the battery.
