To illustrate what’s going on under the covers of my Sub Second skin, here it is with the mask translucent to reveal the rotating disks below and slowed down to a 1 second rate. The 2 & 5 digits couldn’t be done with this technique (maybe with a diagonal disk), so I left them out. So there are only 8 digits played out every cycle. At full rate the eye can’t really tell the difference.
