S13 Watch / Vwar core 5. With Android 13 and AMOLED screen

Thanks very much @Dr_Andy_Vishnu

I was going to say that the whole Android watch market is basically in a “buyer beware” state, more than ever.

People, please take care and do all possible research before you buy anything.

Very easy to be deceived if you don’t check thoroughly.

I will probably move this to the “Announcement” thread for high visibility.

Not only because it’s a sad waste of money, but also because new hardware has come to us (MTK M6769 with high ram and storage specifications) which will run newer Android than version 13.

Of course, this means that some patience is needed while the challenges of working with Android 15 are dealt with.

In short, don’t panic buy and patience is a virtue :+1::+1:

Hello, will Android smartwatches equipped with the MTK6769 processor be released in the future?

Well,

You either take notice of what I posted just above (which clearly says that yes, it’s going to happen), or just think that there is no point to our existence.

Choice is yours.

Depends on the preference of the brands who will make the bulk orders. :+1:

Please remember that the amount of development work involved means that these devices will take some time to reach the market.

We also have no idea what the Brands will want from this. It could be another example of how much an Android device can be locked down. Like the S13 for example.

But, we are in discussion about what brands think is good - compared to what international customers / users want from an Android watch.

I have to say that there is a huge focus on how AI can be integrated into the watches. It seems to be the number one priority at the moment.

My mission is to explain that people from different ways of life are going to want a choice.

Anyway, that’s just one of the challenges. For us (international customers) there are many more to consider. The main problem with this is that the Brands only focus on the two main concerns for them.

  1. price must be very cheap for retail. (but be serious people - you get what you pay for to a large extent) Personally, I would rather pay a higher price than buy a lemon. What do you think?

  2. the software must look really great, regardless of whether it is what we want or not and preventing us from making a choice about what we might prefer.

  3. restrictions imposed to prevent simple tasks like usb debugging, usb access to storage and restricted permissions generally. Again, no choice for the end user. Simple choices like default apps for Home, SMS, Calendar, Phone dialler and many more.

So, there is much to be done. Please post your thoughts about cost versus quality and your thoughts about having the choice to use the apps that you prefer.

To be honest, the more sensible feedback I can get, the better the chance of being considered.

Cheers

Very good news that you’r working on this kind of watch. Personnaly i think that usb debugging and access storage are essential, about the AI : focus on Gemini because Google Assistant will shut down soon and notice that Gemini and GA works well on old models ( DM101 ( A10 firmware ) and Lemfo Lem 16 ). A perfect integration of Google Apps ( home, calendar, etc.. ) are important too.. About the price : like you i prefer pay more but have a good Google watch. Considering the screen : An round Amoled 2.0 ‘ with retractable camera is a good think but it’s just a personnal choice..

Cheers and have a nice day.

Yep, agree on these points.

But even if Google is not preferred, it should still be a choice.

In my opinion.

You might move this in a seperat post.

Hi everyone, is it possible to root the S13? Perhaps this topic has already been covered and I missed it….. :grimacing: Thanks in advance.

Gaining root access on Android 13 is very complex.

You may try searching the Web for how to root Android 13. In my experience, it causes many problems and hardly any benefit. Unless you have source code and access to modules at boot time through the recovery image. It is extremely difficult and that’s why we don’t even bother these days.

Good luck and let us know how you get on :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::+1:

After browsing various topics online about rooting Android devices, I’ve come to the conclusion that rooting the S13 is very tricky, so I’ll skip it. Thanks, Pablo 11, for the info.

I just confirmed this S13 watch does not work on T-Mobile. VWAR S7 Ultra at least got me incoming calls but no outgoing. And the below watch works fully on T-Mobile but has horrible battery life like 3-4 hours

Moderator edit:

The link below is for a device with fake specifications and possibly incorrect radio band information (LTE). It is not a device that is supported by us and knowing the solution provider for this product - please be aware that most details are not correct.

Thanks, this is useful and important for S13 owners.

Can you let us know what area (which state in the USA) you have tested in and what bands are required for T-Mobile LTE connection.

Cheers :ok_hand:
