couldn’t resist, flashed 2.6.
no apps installed, not even logged in google play, only 4G on.

now, this is the standby I’d like to have.
I hope it stays somewhat this way.
(no overheating issue either)

BTW, does the optimus pro come with some kind of screen protector pre-installed?
I tried to peal off the thing that appears to be some kind of glued on screen protector from my screen but it just won’t come off.
please advice

Is your mobile data connection on?
This are my results for today: 4g on, mobile data connection on when not connected to WiFi I manually activate connections when under coverage), Google account not synced, GPS off, WhatsApp installed and working. Firmware 2.7.
6hrs from 100% charge, 5 hrs left. Now at 46 % with 23 minutes screen on.
Still I’ve not understood what’s draining my battery so fast during standby. This night I had 100% battery drain in 8 Hours, with only some minutes of screen on. I’ve tried all the tips of he forum but nothing helped. Waiting for a TWRP recovery to wipe cache, dalvik and get root.
I think there are not other choices for me.
Any further help appreciated.

Cheers

as i said, everything was off, only 4G on. cellular ,gps, bt, wifi off.

I had the same battery drain issue with 2.7, and the watch got pretty hot too with apparently no reason at all.
You could try flashing other FWs ( found on this forum, provided by courtesy of mr. Pabloeleven ).
2.5 works pretty well for me and 2.6 at the moment seems to be even better.

btw, it just droped from 70% to 65% in like 30 min, and I didn’t even use the watch.
it might be not so good after all.
we’ll see

Good info.
Yea it’s been pretty consistent on 2.5. One thing I do is charge each night with it off. So it’s fresh every morning. And if I install a new app or uninstall an app, I’ll restart. With that I’ve been getting really decent battery life.
Also a little over it now to the point where I won’t deny the charger at an opportunity in the they. After a half day using… A run, GPS, bt music etc… At 60% I’ll put it on charger while showering or resting. Then obviously plenty of juice for the rest of the day. I usually do always on time from 7am to 11,then 630pm to 11pm.
Still been going to sleep with 60%

I tried 1.6, 2.5 and 2.7 with the same results.
I can try 2.6, let me know how it goes.
@Brandonoouah I’m using the Optimus Pro as my main phone during those vacations so I can’t turn it off all night long (I deserve it in case someone have to call me).
According to me there’s something wrong with the radio part of the firmware. I planned in tweaking the build.prop to try to let the radio be more battery friendly (I noticed that I have not all the options available as on my mobile phone so I need to manually enable them in build.prop file). Obviously, to modify the build.prop root privileges are needed.
I asked @iscle if he can provide a TWRP for Optimus Pro ( I cannot get root privileges only patching the boot.img with magisk - that’s strange). I hope he will reply soon.
I let you know for other updates.

Cheers

Your battery usage per function in percentage doesn’t show anything about the main consumer?

Good morning @Eric_Crochemore ,

It says that the main part of battery is wasted in standby phone.

Yes,I agree.I did 2.5 firmware upload (thx pablo11) - factory reset after - 2.6 firmware upload - factory reset - now standby 5% / discharge hourly (only Bt. & 3G on).Full google sync. off…
I made a usb charger (little english sorry). timing switch electronics with arduino software.
I charge 10 minutes an hour, so if I don’t wear it, the battery won’t run out. So far very good,…

he just posted the TWRP !

i rolled back FW from stock unbox 2.7 to 2.5 and battery drain stopped completely, in fact its actually much improved.

Ok. I probably solved the issue with my CPU not dozing. I installed GSam Battery Monitor from the play store, granded the permission for battery stats from ADB and noticed that a Kernel process held my CPU awake forever. The process was “LedsWakelock”. I investigated on internet and found that there’s a common issue with MTK processor and chinese kernel. So I found an apk called MTK No Led, installed it and disabled the process.
All seems to be working fine for the moment: notification work fine but maybe I don’t get sound when I get a notification (I use vibration anyway). Yesterday I had almost 18h of battery life, 1h 30 min of screen on time, 4g + mobile data or wifi when under coverage, Google sync off.

Maybe there are some other solutions to the issue: in case let me know. Maybe this issue can be investigated from the manufacturer for a future fix.

cheers

Nice!!
Any chance you can share the apk? Just searched, couldn’t find it. On Google or store.
Is root required?
Thanks!

Hello,

that’s the link for the apk (no root needed). I uploaded it to my google drive:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1IncYR19MilGeq0f1jLiLp8nbo6alz1Tk.

I’d recommend you to investigate (you can use GSam BM - it’s free) if you have the issue before installing anything on your watch. Maybe there’s nothing to fix in your watch.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks!
I am getting decent battery life but not nearly as good as that you listed with 4g and data on. 130 screen time. That’s excellent.
I’m conserving almost everything.
Now I am even trying to conserve using the power button, as I don’t want to lose it, as I did the back button this morning.

Nice find. I just installed and disabled led. I’ll update at the end of a few days.
Sounds promising considering it’s a known issue and there is an apk specially for it.

For others willing to try, I recommend to do the following:

  • go to settings;
  • go to power saving;
  • tap on the battery discarge graph;
  • scroll down till you reach a voice called “active”.

In your watch is always active (under active you will have a continuous blu line) I should recommend you investigate the issue with GSAM and grant the battery permissions via ADB (it’s plenty of guides on the web).
If your watch is behaving properly (under active you will have some blue dots more less corresponding to the times the device screen went on) I would not recommend further investigation.

cheers.

Morning! As usual I powered off the watch before charging overnight. I had not restarted the watch since trying the led disabler.

Whoops!
Touchscreen is not working properly at all. Unable to use the watch. Unable to scroll properly or click anything. Will have to reload firmware.

Guess this gives me a reason to try 2.6…

Actually I just realized I cannot power off the watch because I can’t tap it correctly.
So I guess I have to let the battery drain completely and then recharge it and then try to update the firmware.
I remember that the watch needs to be off when starting the update.
Any ideas here?

Update… I just was able to get it to power off.

I’m sorry to hear that. I haven’t had this issue with led disabler.
