noidremained, thanks will try that. I think banking or payment apps also have these checks built in sometimes.

pablo11, it is a couple of apps that have a root check for security reasons e.g. InTune Company Portal (for corporate MS apps) and Enpass Password Manager in my case.

Just rooted Lemx with magisk yesterday and working really great! Finally able to receive calls through Text Now APP by changing 240 DPI to 200 to hit the receive call button. Changing DPI to what I like is much easier now. Also if you set the settings right you can stay rooted and hidden with magisk to allow other apps to work like Netflix and Pokemon Go. I test to see if it works and the LemX was even able to play Pokemon Go lol. Great stuff. This watch is the greatest!

Anyway, thank you guys for all your hard work to keep this site running and being helpful. I did a small donation to show some love.

It’s very likely that these apps are not allowed on a device that has no lock screen security as well.
I can’t use Exchange email because I have to use a lock screen with a pin number.
So I don’t use it.
I have also heard about changing from testkeys to releasekeys but even after doing this - many “secure” apps require a lock screen and pin.

Does anyone else have issue with SIM no longer being recognised after a while? It works OK for a day or two and then suddenly stops and can’t get it to detect it again until I do factory reset. I know SIM is fine because after the factory reset it connects to mobile network and I can see the menu for that again.

I have not heard of this issue before... I think it is a problem with either the sim tray pins are not completely level and making a good connection - or your antennas are not working properly....

Just my opinion

pablo11 is right, check your sim slot and see if the pins are ok, i have been using the same sim from day one and amazingly till now have'nt opened the sim slot at all i do'nt even want to.

Mine works fine

Tim And Pierce Collins so does mine so I think it’s a physical problem with that particular individual watch.

ok thanks. The SIM position and connection is fine as it starts working again after a factory reset without any re-adjustment. Likely to be due to my tinkering with software then but can’t think of what.

For the record, Looks like using some functions in Magisk are the cause e.g. installing any modules or using MagiskHide with certain apps. When I uninstalled Magisk, the mobile network came back. Repeated a few times to confirm. Magisk works fine for root otherwise.

That's a known issue - again down to encryption. It really is a totally different ball park with the newer versions of Android...

Loving the bigger battery but do still find that screen and bluetooth are the major battery hog. Screen in particular chews about 1% per minute of use. Tinkering with macros to try and conserve but can’t really do much about it other than turning brightness down and turning off when not in use. Still, is the closest to a usable standalone watch yet in terms of full day use and the bigger screen is great once you get used to the fact it is as wide as your wrist and is off-center… how that was missed in quality control is beyond me… otherwise props to Lemfo for innovating with different form factors. Think they are on a good track here.

Blew a lot of air into speaker ( really harsh ) several times . I did run the risk of ruining it with moisture etc

Tim And Pierce Collins

air spray or hair drier?

“I did run the risk of ruining it with moisture etc” , yeah…i think you and i are watches killers:)

After that I think do you need some oxygen because you run out your breath

For record, managed to get secure apps working with root through a couple of options so just sharing.
Ironically, the apps did not work on the stock firmware (failed security checks) so I had to use root to get the checks to pass! #irony

  1. With Magisk installed, had to go through options in Magisk Hide one-by-one. Hiding some works fine and others will crash and cause watch to reboot after which you lose the mobile network so I had to uninstall Magisk to restore it and start all over again. After some trial and error, managed to select the right android/google ones and ticked my secure work microsoft apps with Magisk Hide and I now have my work calendar and mail on my Watch. For InTune, I had to run this command via adb as selecting via UI seems to miss this process magiskhide --add com.microsoft.windowsintune.companyportal.omadm_client_process.
  2. Had one secure authentication app that still would not work with MagiskHide, renaming APK etc so I downloaded a cool new Android app called ‘Island’. It creates a 2nd user on the device and allows you to run apps in that container and access them from the main one. That environment is completely closed off from the first so no root etc. Works a charm so now just need to see if it has much of an impact on battery life.

I am now close to replacing my phone completely but battery is only just enough to get through a normal work day even though I barely use it and with my brightness set to 0% all the time, 15 sec timeout, maybe 1 call and the rest just checking notifications. Still playing with macros and tried greenify and now servicely to further optimise but 85-90% of battery consumption is the screen itself. Rest is bluetooth & mobile connection and apps usually 1-2%.

Is anyone else using it standalone (i.e. with SIM and no phone) and what sort of battery life are you getting?
