Just had a quick look at the playstore and the Sinwear app.

It’s version is 0.0.10
0.0.x to me indicates pre-alpha stage.
How can this be after so many watches already flooding the market?

That’s why you get a QR screen to download from. This app is not officially recognised by Google.

Ah, that’s why…
Why don’t they remove it then. Confusing.

Just downloaded the version via the QR code.
It’s version 0.0.9 (Even worse!!!)

I read here that it had an update, but it’s the same version I initially installed a week ago.

I am not Google - ask them ------

I was not referring to Google, but Sinwear. They left a packrat.

I forgot to mention this.
I have a huge problem with downloading apps on my phone that circumvent the security of the playstore. Forcing users to sideload apps onto their android devices creates a huge security risk.
One of the main reasons of only using playstore is about it’s security.

Just to give you one example with another and well known smartwatch the U8.
It’s companion app was found sending data to servers in China that could not be determined and the data was encrypted.
