I have just checked - you just need to be a new member or above to access it.

No, I was talking about the firmware.
TWRP is taken care of it the development section. The Openwatch team make the TWRP.

You must do a bit of research here and on the Chinese phone sites..
I say this because these watches are a little different to regular devices.
For example, you won’t be using the bootloader at all. You won’t need to unlock it.
Once you have the boot image patched (do this on your mobile phone by transferring the boot image to your phone and patch it with Magisk) then you can have root access.
However, I have found that the security relationship between boot and recovery has been customised on these newer m6739 models. Real root access seems to be dependent on having both the patched boot image and TWRP. Very unusual but true.
So, you can achieve everything you want by just flashing twrp and patched boot image.
My advice is to copy the Magisk install zip (not the apk) to your watch storage.
Flash both the patched boot and the twrp recovery using the MTK flash tool and boot the watch.
Then “adb reboot recovery” and flash the Magisk zip file.
That’s it. Done.
Nothing to do with bootloader
